Extended Detection & Response

Correlate signals across endpoints, networks, identities, cloud and applications into one investigation and response workflow — instead of five disconnected consoles.

What is XDR?

Extended Detection and Response (XDR) is a security architecture that collects and correlates telemetry from multiple control points — endpoint, network, identity, cloud and email — and applies analytics to detect threats that a single tool would miss. Where EDR sees the endpoint and NDR sees the network, XDR connects both, plus identity and cloud context, into a single incident narrative.

The operational value of XDR is not another alert feed. It is time: faster detection, faster triage, and faster containment. When signals are correlated automatically, analysts spend their time investigating real incidents rather than reconciling timestamps across tools.

Why it matters

Why organisations adopt XDR

Point tools create blind spots between them — and attackers deliberately operate in those gaps.

Attacks cross tool boundaries

A phishing email compromises an identity, which moves laterally across the network and exfiltrates data from the cloud. Only correlated telemetry tells the whole story.

Alert fatigue degrades response

Uncorrelated alerts force analysts to manually rebuild incidents. Correlation reduces noise and raises confidence before a human ever reviews the queue.

Investigation speed decides impact

Containment windows are measured in minutes. One-click pivots from detection to scope across all data sources compress response time sharply.

How it works

How Netralink XDR works

A practical pipeline from telemetry to response, deployed around your existing investments.

  1. 01

    Collect

Telemetry is gathered from endpoint, network, identity, cloud and email sources — including the security tools you already own.

  2. 02

    Normalise

Events are mapped to a common schema and enriched with asset, identity and threat-intelligence context.

  3. 03

    Detect

Analytics and detection rules identify malicious behaviour, not just known signatures.

  4. 04

    Correlate

Related signals are grouped into incidents with a unified timeline and severity.

  5. 05

    Investigate

Analysts pivot across all data sources from a single view to establish scope and root cause.

  6. 06

    Respond

Containment actions — isolate, block, disable, revoke — are executed through documented playbooks.

Capabilities

XDR capabilities

What you can expect from a Netralink XDR deployment.

Unified telemetry

Endpoint, network, identity, cloud and email signals in one data plane with normalised timestamps.

Cross-layer correlation

Detection logic that links weak signals across layers into high-confidence incidents.

Threat intelligence enrichment

Indicators, adversary context and campaign data applied automatically to detections.

Guided investigation

Incident timelines, relationship graphs and one-click pivots across every data source.

Automated response

SOAR-backed playbooks for isolation, blocking, credential revocation and notification.

Detection engineering

Ongoing tuning, rule development and coverage mapping against adversary techniques.

In practice

XDR use cases

Ransomware containment

Correlate endpoint execution, lateral movement and file activity to isolate an outbreak before encryption spreads.

Identity compromise response

Link suspicious sign-ins with endpoint and cloud activity to identify a compromised account and its blast radius.

Insider threat investigation

Combine identity, endpoint and data-access telemetry to investigate anomalous behaviour with evidence.

SOC modernisation

Consolidate overlapping detection tools into a coherent operating model with measurable coverage.

Outcomes

Benefits

  • Fewer, higher-confidence alerts through cross-layer correlation
  • Faster mean time to detect and respond (MTTD / MTTR)
  • One investigation workflow instead of many consoles
  • Coverage that adapts to new adversary techniques
  • Works with your existing tools — no rip-and-replace required

FAQ

XDR — frequently asked questions

XDR (Extended Detection and Response) is an approach that collects telemetry from multiple control points — endpoints, networks, identities, cloud and email — correlates it into unified incidents, and provides investigation and response from a single platform. It extends the endpoint-centric focus of EDR across the whole estate.
